Fma2 Downlink Performance Analysis
نویسنده
چکیده
The wideband code-division multiple access (CDMA) concept (FMA2) developed in the European FRAMES project supports variable data rate transmission. The data rate can be altered by changing either the spreading factor or by using multiple spreading codes in parallel. In order to facilitate exible changing of data rate, variable length orthogonal Walsh codes are used for channel separation, followed by scrambling code. Optional short scrambling codes can be used if interference suppression is used. In this paper the downlink performance of the FMA2 system using both the conventional RAKE and the LMMSE-RAKE receivers is studied. According to the numerical results, the performance of the conventional RAKE receivers is insuucient at lowest spreading factors, whereas the the LMMSE-RAKE performs well regardless of the spreading factor.

The WCDMA scheme has been developed as a joint effort between ETSI and ARIB during the second half of 1997 [30]. The ETSI WCDMA scheme and the ARIB WCDMA scheme have been developed from the FMA2 scheme in Europe [31-37] and the Core-A scheme in Japan [38-43], respectively. The uplink of the WCDMA scheme is based mainly on the FMA2 scheme, while the downlink is based on the Core-A scheme. In thi...

In the down link scenario of code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, multi user detectors (MUDs) such as linear de-correlating detector (LDDs) provide satisfactory symbol error rates (SERs) at the expense of much increased complexity, they require all active users’ spreading sequences, which is impractical from privacy point of view. To overcome this impracticality, a simple matched filte...

A wealth of recent work has gone into optimizing the performance of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) on the downlink channel of wireless networks such as for example, honing its congestion awareness mechanism so that it is minimally affected by random wireless losses, and optimizing achieved fairness of the end-to-end TCP rates. Other work has gone into balancing the allocation of a shared r...
